Molina Healthcare of New York Teams Up with We Rise Above the Streets to Launch a Resource Closet to Support People in Need

To support We Rise Above the Streets Recovery Outreach andthe important efforts the organization is making to help the homelesspopulation in Syracuse, Molina is creating a special closet to serve its clients. Molina Healthcare will be unveiling the “Molina Closet,” a permanent resourcecloset providing free supplies to men, women, and children in need. The closetwill provide free clothing and personal hygiene products to We Rise Above theStreet’s clients.
Molina transformed the closet by adding shelves, painting,and organizing the room. Molina volunteers are also painting the front officeof the organization. Additionally, Molina has plans to continue supporting thecloset throughout the year by hosting employee donation drives at its office inSyracuse and restocking the closet.
The founder of We Rise Above the Streets, Al-amin Muhammad, washonored as a 2018 Molina Community Champion, and Molina has continued to workwith him to address homelessness in Syracuse. The Syracuse Girl Scouts are alsotaking part in the effort by working with We Rise Above the Streets to launchthe employment program and collect professional clothing for peopletransitioning out of homelessness.
